About Dr Elyana
When my Standard 1 teacher asked about my ambitions, I had three answers: singer, actress, and doctor. As I grew older, I briefly imagined a future as a scientist—but life had other plans. I became a doctor instead.
I spent five formative years at a boarding school in Johor Bahru from the age of 13. After SPM, I had a short stint at Kolej Yayasan Pelajaran Mara (KYPM) Bangi before moving on to Kolej Matrikulasi Yayasan Saad (KMYS) to pursue my A Levels.
I was fortunate to receive a scholarship to study medicine at the University of Glasgow. My time there was about far more than academics—it was a period of growth and perspective. I met people from all walks of life, experienced rich cultural diversity, explored beautiful places, and gained insights that have shaped who I am today.
It’s fair to say I was once a little narrow-minded. Living in Glasgow for seven years changed me profoundly. I became less judgmental and, perhaps most importantly, developed a deeper and more thoughtful understanding of my faith.
I’m married to Mr Ameen—“Mr” because he is one, and also because he’s an ENT surgeon—my constant and greatest support system. Together, we’re blessed with three adventurous little superheroes.
I have a deep love for asam laksa… I could eat it every day, and truthfully, most days I do.
That’s a little about me.
If there’s anything you’d like to ask, feel free to reach out—I’ll do my best to help (especially on all things obstetrics and gynaecology).
